How to Pay your Fare

Tap to Pay with a Contactless Bank Card Now you can ride VTA by tapping your contactless bank card at a Clipper reader to pay your fare. Just look for the contactless symbol on your plastic card or pay using a contactless card in your mobile wallet. Accepted card brands are Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Please note: You will be charged the full adult fare when using a contactless bank card to pay for transit.

Trip Plan and Pay Your Fare with the Transit App

Use the Transit app for trip planning, real-time updates, and mobile fare payment. Fares will be available for purchase starting June 1. Sales conclude on July 4, with all purchased fares remaining valid for use through July 12.

How does buying fare in the Transit app work?
  1. Download Transit APP
  2. After you plan your trip, Tap the "Buy Ticket" button.
  3. For game day select “VTA 1-Day”.
  4. Add to cart and select quantities.
  5. Enter Payment Information
  6. Activate your passes when you are ready to use them to show VTA Fare Inspectors or Bus Operators.
